Americans, Please Think About This!!

An Important Message 

Having studied the present-day American society at length, and comparing it to the one that existed in the past few decades, let me say that never had it looked so very divided, as it looks right now. People used to support the leader which they liked but they never used to be so very critical of the candidate (leader) from the opposite party. For example, during the days of Barack Obama's first time nomination as the Presidential candidate of the Democratic party, he used to get supported by those people who loved him but they did not severely hate his opposite number from the Republican party viz. Mitt Romney. For them it was just the case that Romney was suitable too but not as suitable as Barack Obama, to become the next President (back in 2008).  

But right now things have changed drastically. According to a reliable source, at least 70% of the Dems severely hate Donald J Trump. Yes, that's true!! Many celebrities have threatened that if Trump comes back to the White House, "they will leave America!" This list includes George Clooney, Taylor Swift, Whoopy Goldberg, and a whole bunch of others. In other words, they are telling Americans that if the latter want them to stay inside America, they just don't have to vote for Trump! Look at the amount of hatred hidden in these declarations. It is as if Trump is some monster, who is going to destroy the United States single-handedly if he regains his Presidency. Not only that, there are a large number of Dems on X, (mostly common men) who, when they talk about Trump, do it in the most disgusting manner, as if he is some devil or some villain, who is going to be very harmful to each and every American if he wins. Some even went to the extent of calling for his death, publicly, when he went through an assassination attempt on July 13th!! ("I wish he would have died today." - said a man around 35, on CNN, openly.) What a level of hard feelings!!

In that very same way, the Republicans these days, don't just deny giving any vote to Kamala Harris but also abuse her heavily with some extremely disgraceful words. They call the Biden-Harris administration as the one that has brought down America to its knees. Some even go to the extent of calling Kamala, "a cheap woman, who has slept her way to the top!!"

What kinds of rhetorics are these!!! Are we discussing politics or are we inside a real do-or-die battlefield? Are you going to perish if your chosen candidate won't win? No. Then why are you spreading so much hatred about him/her? Why are you splitting Americans into two, knowingly or unknowingly?!? Do you know what harm are you causing to the country? 

We all know the proverb, "United we stand, Divided we fall." Then why are these people dividing this beautiful nation, in the most bitter way? Why are they destroying its very fabric, that our forefathers laid - the one which asks for fraternity and brotherhood? How long will it take for this fabric to get torn apart if this continuous bombardment of hatred continues? How long will it take for the beginning of a civil war, if these differences deepen furthermore? A lot of people, mostly innocents may die if such a civil war breaks out - suddenly and unfortunately. So is this how the future of our country should be??

America had witnessed a civil war already in the 1860s, in which so many of our countrymen lost their lives, fighting against each other. It was as if the lives of human beings, had become so very cheap back then. It also killed our great President Abraham Lincoln; his assassination being the direct result of mutual hatred. Do we want a civil war once again? Do we want to watch our near & dear ones getting killed among ourselves, whilst the world watches and laughs at this kind of foolishness? If No, why can't we stop this immense hatred that has begun to prevail in the hearts and minds of the two rival parties for each other? The spark is already there and in no time it can take the form of a massive fire, which will definitely, and rather unfortunately have the potential to destroy this whole country. It's advisable that we nip it in the bud, i.e. we stop this hatred from growing now itself and stand united as "AMERICANS", regardless of which party we support, regardless of which gender, religion, or ethnicity we belong to and regardless of which country we came from, to settle down over here. The tweets on social media platform X of certain people like MTG (Marjorie Taylor Greene) from the Republican party and Hillary Clinton from the Democratic party are filled with intense hatred for their opposite parties. The reason that MTG gives for posting so much disgust for the Dems is "My tweets show how much I love my party!" Oh really? Dear Miss Greene, if you love your party so much, why not post good things about its leaders, instead of posting such nasty things about your opponents' leaders, which generates so much hatred amongst Americans? Hillary Clinton once called all Republicans "a bunch of deplorables". Such adjectives just increase mutual hatred and do no good. 

These days everyone on the internet wants to have "likes" for their posts. In search of these likes, they often become weird and show themselves off by expressing exaggerated opinions and feelings about anything that comes their way. For example, if a certain Democrat wants to say "Trump is a bad guy" he will prefer to say "Trump is such a bad guy!" Now can you see the huge rise in intensity in the 2nd line above? It has virtually dropped Trump from "bad" to "extremely bad" in just a few seconds!! The young generation may be loving this kind of fun. But its result is not good. This kind of sentence will increase hatred towards the leader of the party you don't like. After a certain time, this hatred will show an avalanche effect and snowball into totally disgusting feelings for Trump among all those who actually didn't like him a little bit. After all, there is a difference between not liking a little bit and totally hating someone. Both are not the same. 

The noteworthy thing is Trump did not do anything at all, in this time duration of being transformed automatically from "a bad guy" to "a very bad guy"! It was all the nonsense social media that heightened the levels of hatred for him and in the process unnecessarily and unfortunately raised the temperature between the supporters of the two main parties!! Isn't this childish, ridiculous, and totally immature?? 

To summarise, let us not forget our basic identity, despite our differences. Let us be AMERICANS first, and then anything else. I solemnly and wholeheartedly pray to you to stop hating each other. Please stop that.
