(9) The Assassination Attempt on Donald Trump and the Presidential Nomination of Kamala Harris

  

Trump escaped an assassination attempt on July 13th at Butler, Pennsylvania. 

On July 13th, 2024 at around 6:11 pm Eastern, 8 rounds of bullets were fired from a rifle by a man on a rooftop, targeting Donald Trump, while he was addressing a rally at Butler, Pennsylvania. The very first shot was able to hurt the President as it hit his right ear and passed by. Trump felt a whizzing sound, realized that something was horribly wrong, and immediately knelt down under the podium of the stage. His entire security staff then came to his rescue and shielded him from further gunshots. Out of the 7 other gunshots that came along, 1 of them hit a man called Corey Comperatore, who died instantly there. Two more hit two other people in the crowd over there, injuring them both. However, they have survived. Thus, out of the 8 gunshots, 4 completely failed to hit any target, whereas 1 each hit Trump, Corey, and two other men.  

Luckily for Trump and the Republican Party, Trump came out from all these troubles alive!! Apart from the minor injury to his right ear, he did not receive any further injury. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. He recovered completely from this terrible incident in just 24 hours.  

The shooter was identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old young man. As he opened fire on Trump from his rifle, he was immediately spotted by a Secret Service (SS) Agent and shot down in a few seconds. Had that not happened, he would have definitely assassinated Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, there itself. Thanks to that immediate action by the Secret Service agent who shot him down, that Trump is still alive, as I write this on August 15th, 2024. Trump has thanked the entire Secret Service staff present at the incident, for saving his life. 

"Fight, Fight, Fight...!!" says a bleeding former President Trump. 

As Trump heard the whizzing sound of the first bullet, rupturing his right ear, as said above, he immediately knelt down on his knees and went under the podium. Once it was ascertained that the man with the rifle had been neutralized, Trump got up, raised his fist in utmost anger, and cried, "FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT.....!!!" That shows that this man knows no fear. He is fearless. When he was shouting "Fight, Fight..." his face had a lot of blood that was sprayed from his ears to his lips, nose, and right cheek. It was a horrible scenario indeed. He kept on saying "Fight, Fight..." and raising his fist until he was not escorted to his car. That shows his tremendous fighting spirit, which embodies his slogan "Never surrender....!!" What a fighter Trump is!!!

As the entire world watched this horrible spectacle, the United States of America was in a state of extreme shock and horror. Everyone was still worried about the health of Donald Trump. However, by 9 pm Eastern, sources close to him declared that Trump was "completely Okay" and out of danger. 

Many leaders of various nations condemned this heinous attack on the life of Trump. This included British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, etc. Sources from Kremlin, the Russian media outlet said that "Putin has expressed deep concerns over this violent attack on Trump. He thinks that the kind of gruesome atmosphere generated by the ruthless propaganda of the current US President Joe Biden against Donald Trump was actually responsible for this kind of horrific attack..!"

This assassination attempt on the life of Trump changed the dynamics of the race for the presidential elections drastically for about a week. Trump began leading with a huge margin against Biden, compared to what he did, before this attack took place. Biden suddenly started lagging behind Trump very badly in the national polls. The Democratic Party leaders like Chuck Schumer, Nensi Pelosi, Hakeem Jeffries, etc. got worried. If this trend continued they would lose the Presidential Elections much before it actually took place - this thought started worrying them. First the disastrous performance in that CNN Debate of June 27th and now this incidence of the assassination attempt on Trump -- these two back-to-back blows were enough for them to ask Biden to step aside, as they couldn't see any chance of a sizable improvement in his ratings, that could challenge Trump. Biden, a seasoned politician as he is, wisely decided to step aside and make way for a new person. The Democratic party leaders gave him the authority to decide his successor.

After a couple of nights of thinking and discussions with senior leaders, he announced on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on July 22nd, that he had decided to drop out from the race for the presidency. He also expressed his desire to pass on the baton to Kamala Harris, the current Vice President of the United States!!

This decision did not surprise too many. It was obvious that he would make Kamala his successor, specifically because he had already expressed this earlier about a couple of years ago, as to what he would do once he stepped aside. There is a reason why Biden selected a half-black African, half-Indian-American woman as his successor. This is all because of Obama. 

Biden has been very grateful to Barack Obama ever since the former selected the latter as his Deputy and country's future Vice President during the 2008 Presidential Elections. Obama was elected as President at that time, and hence Joe Biden became the Vice President (VP) of the country. He served as the Vice President for both the Obama terms between 2009 to 2017. After that, he fought the Presidential election in 2020 against Donald Trump. Barack Obama again supported this man very nicely. Biden defeated Trump and became the President!! Being so grateful for whatever Obama has done for him over the years, he has decided to be a person who doesn't forget the obligations of anybody, which is definitely a very positive point of his character. He decided to pay back Obama's obligations by fully supporting a black African American candidate, as Obama had once desired and told him. However, Obama didn't go to the extent of expressing his desire for that candidate to be a man or a woman. It was Biden's own wish to select a black African American woman because he wanted to elevate the position of the blacks as well as women, in American society. As such, this speaks volumes about how much he respects the black African American community as well as all women (whether black or white or Hispanic or Asian) and how much he believes in equality. (Republicans however argue that Biden was opposing all good things being done to the blacks until 1996! It was only after 1996 that he completely changed his stance in favor of the blacks!) He believes in giving a fair chance to every category of American people, irrespective of his/her race and gender. That's one more reason as to why he has chosen Kamala Harris. 

After getting selected as the successor of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris was overjoyed. She immediately expressed her gratitude to Biden for selecting her as the presumed Presidential candidate from the Democratic party. But her critics were still not sure if all the Democratic party leaders would agree to Biden's decision. They were guessing that a quick selection process through a primary debate would be more democratic and better for the party. 

But Kamala, a smart and a seasoned politician as she is, didn't give them this chance! As soon as she got the endorsement from Biden, she made Chuck Schumer, Nensi Pelosi, Hillary & Bill Clinton, and Hakim Jefferies endorse her by successfully talking to them. Then on July 26th, 4 days after Biden's decision announcement of stepping aside, she approached the delegates of the Democratic party, hundreds of them, and got their endorsements too. Until July 29th, everyone was guessing why Barack Obama, the direct boss of her boss Biden, still wasn't endorsing her. Rumours started spreading that Obama was thinking of putting the bid of his wife Michelle, to run for the presidency! But then came the good news for Kamala. On July 30th, Barack Obama, the invisible chief of the current Democratic party (yes chief because it's a strong conviction of many political observers that all the decisions of the Biden Administration were being taken by Obama), and his wife Michelle Obama endorsed Kamala. It was a big sigh of relief for her. It ended any and all the speculation about Michelle throwing her hat in the Presidential race at the very last moment. A few weeks before the official nomination to be held at the Democratic Party National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, Kamala Harris was now an ascertained presumed candidate of her party to run for the 47th President of America! 

She wasted no time in starting her campaign. The very next day she announced that she would be announcing her running mate very shortly. She directly went to address an election rally on July 31st. In just a week's time, she announced Timothy Walz, the recent governor of the northern state of Minnesota, as her running mate and Vice Presidential nominee. Meanwhile, Trump has already announced James David Vance (popularly known as JD Vance), the junior Senator from the state of Ohio as his running mate, a few days after the assassination attempt on his life. The US presidential elections are less about Vice Presidential nominees yet we shall have a comparative analysis of these two men - Tim Walz and JD Vance, in a separate chapter. 

By the 7th of August, the two rival camps had already decided their two main contenders - Trump & Vance from the Republican side whereas Harris and Walz from the Democratic side. The final battle had already begun!!

As I write this on August 15th, Harris and Walz have already addressed half a dozen rallies in various states. The support they are getting from their party is humungous!! Yes, indeed!! The Dems have accepted these two wholeheartedly! Tens of thousands of Americans are attending their rallies, shouting "Kamala, Kamala, Kamala!!!" There is a sense of revival inside this party right now. The debacle of Biden at the CNN Debate - which was a rather upsetting incident for most of them, has now become an incident of the past. They want to move ahead into the future. They can envisage a wonderful period of 4 years under President Kamala Harris, wherein there is decency, equity, and inclusivity in America and not indecency, division, and differences in status everywhere. They strongly feel that Trump is a divisive person who doesn't have the decency of being in public life. That's why some of them hate him whilst others just don't like him. Let's talk about the indecency shown by Trump here to a certain degree. 

Ever since he started his 2016 Presidential campaign, Trump has been calling names for each and person, he doesn't like. He calls them ugly adjectives like "crooked", "crazy", "totally mad", "stupid", "idiot" etc. He even doesn't mind abusing them when he is on stage!! That was evident when once he called Ron DeSantis, who ran against him in the primaries in 2023, (for getting nominated as the Republican party Nominee for being the POTUS after the 2024 elections) as "son of a _____" when on stage! This was quite shocking not only to the Dems but also to the Republican party supporters. What kind of language was that?? Does a person running for Presidency ever use such foul language? Doesn't he know the fact that he is not running any private business where he is the ultimate boss and can abuse anyone he wishes with any bad word?? Hasn't he ever seen any American President before him, say Ronald Reagan or George Bush, etc. from his party or even from his opposite party (the likes of Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, etc.) speaking like that in public?? Then why is he doing this? He is smart enough to know that this kind of indecent speech is and has been going against him. One of the reasons why Kamala has got a jump-start on her Presidential campaign and her poll numbers have soared considerably in the last 2 weeks is just because of this kind of indecency shown by Trump. This drawback of his is actually helping his rival and canceling out so many positives that he has in his resume to get elected as President this November. I hope the senior leaders of his party should ask him to stop making use of any kind of foul language in public life, or else he may not win this race at all. 

Let's go back now to the assassination attempt on him. The FBI, which was investigating this whole episode had already said in just within 48 hours of the incident that, "This entire incident was the act of a single individual only, the man who got shot himself, while trying to shoot down Trump. He was not working in collusion with, or under the orders of some terrorist organisation or some group. He himself had the desire to kill Trump, and so he tried that with a rifle in his hands." 

This conclusion by the FBI that this entire horrible attack was the idea of 1 single man Thomas Matthew Crooks, looks elusive and misleading to me. This actually is not the case. It's rather premature to come to conclusions on this affair but this seems to be an "insider's job" in that Biden & his Democratic supporters have conspired to eliminate Donald Trump. After all, the race for the presidency was becoming more & more bitter with each passing day, especially after the CNN Debate of June 27th, wherein Biden got defeated so badly by Trump, as he lost his memory in the middle of the debate and began mumbling weird, useless things. There was a huge demand even from the Democratic party itself to replace Biden as a presidential nominee of that party because of his rapidly declining cognitive abilities, which actually led him to lose the debate against Trump. Biden was indeed feeling quite frustrated after that Debate. He was feeling more and more jealous about the physical and mental fitness of Trump and maybe that itself led him to decide to organize an assassination attempt on the life of Donald Trump. All these points which I have made are not mere hypothetical ideas, as some of my critics will immediately like to express. I am saying this because just 5 days before the attack, Biden had tweeted, "It's time to bring Trump under the bull's eye!" which clearly meant that he was asking his supporters, especially those radical leftist ones who believe in violence and can handle it, to attack and kill Trump! What else can those words mean? Had this been a tweet with a humorous tone, that "bull's eye" remark could've been ignored. But no, one can easily make out that this tweet was NOT with a humorous tone. It was a serious one. So those words can not be ignored as some kind of humor. They should be understood at their face value and Biden should be severely questioned by the FBI and other investigative agencies as to what he meant by saying "It's now time to bring Trump under the bull's eye." Isn't it? 

I would rather not go to the extent of accusing Biden of orchestrating an assassination attempt on Trump, but so many things do point towards this malicious conspiracy. The first one was of course the timing of that tweet in which Biden openly calls for bringing Trump under the Bull's eye. It was after his tragic loss to Trump in that CNN debate. There was every chance that he must have gotten very infuriated with and jealous of Trump after that debate. His party must have felt a sense of hopelessness, a sort of vacuum, just a few months before the elections. Under the influence of desperate thoughts, he and his friends within the Democratic party would have seen no other way out from the crisis they were stuck with and ultimately decided to kill Trump. Yes, this is likely and I am stating this with full consciousness. They must have hired Thomas Crooks and given him some good money. That guy must have then studied the entire schedule about Trump's future rallies and spotted the nearest place to him, where he can organize an assassination attempt on Trump. All these could have happened. Americans will know these facts after the FBI finds them out in some months. 

Another conspiracy theory is of the involvement of the country called Iran in this assassination attempt. Here is why: Back in 2019, when he was the President, Trump ordered the execution of one of Iran's topmost leaders Suleimani, a person who was responsible for the deaths of so many Americans, including their soldiers, during his lifetime. That plan was carried out successfully and the terrorist, Suleimani, got killed in a drone attack. Widespread repercussions were felt all across Iran, a powerful Muslim country in the Middle East. Its religious and political leaders swore to assassinate Trump as soon as they got the right opportunity. The incidence of an assassination attempt on Trump on July 13th could've been masterminded by a group of such Iranian people, who knows. This theory has also got a strong chance of being correct because, with open borders, every Tom Dick and Harry terrorist has an equal chance of getting a shot at any leader in this country right now. The state of affairs of security of any American is very poor right now, even inside America. (God forbid an attack of the scale of 9/11 even can take place any time, anywhere in the US!) 

Apart from the above two, there are some other theories too. One of them is that Trump himself organized an attack on his own life! Yes, you guessed it right - the Dems have come out with this theory. They say that it was a very clever act orchestrated by Trump and his supporters, so as to gain the sympathy of the voters. Some reasons they present are noteworthy though:

"They allowed him to get up and expose himself so that he could fist-pump and shout "Fight, Fight.." just a few minutes after the shooting was over. How come? If this was not a self-orchestrated attack, they wouldn't have allowed him at all to get up and expose himself to the shooter once again for at least half an hour or so. They also allowed him to get exposed out of the security cover and fist-pump even at the time when they were putting him inside his car. How come? They shouldn't have allowed that too, who knows, the assassin might have again fired at him and killed him on the spot! This again seems to be a reasonable argument. 

However, on the whole, this particular conspiracy theory doesn't seem to be convincing at all. This is especially because, if suppose Trump had asked the shooter Crooks to open fire on himself, he must have clearly mentioned to the shooter that in no case should anyone else get killed or even injured in the shooter's orchestrated attempt to kill him. But instead, 1 person got killed and 2 others got injured. Actually looking from a broader angle, this theory of Trump orchestrating an attack on his own life seems entirely impossible, weird, and foolish. That means among the 3 conspiracy theories mentioned above, we are left with only 2 of them, those which the FBI needs to carefully investigate. As said above, as the case unfolds in the future, there can be new conspiracy theories too that can come into the limelight. 

Trump escaping a sure death -- A divine intervention or just a coincidence!?!!

The entire chain of events that took place on July 13th, at Butler, Pennsylvania is very shocking indeed. But the most shocking (and rather in an extremely pleasant manner for the Republican party supporters) was such evidence that indicates a divine intervention saved Trump's life!! Let's see how.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, a resident of Butler County, in the state of Pennsylvania, had already decided what he would be doing on July 13th, quite a few days in advance. On July 3rd he googled the schedule of Trump's forthcoming rallies. He saw one happening at Butler and must have decided to execute his plan there itself. 

On the morning of July 13th, which was Saturday, not a free day for him, he took leave from the place where he worked as a Kitchen assistant. He left his home quite early, after getting possession of his father's rifle in a manner in which his dad shouldn't know it. He drove himself to a local gun shop around 1:40 pm and purchased 50 rounds of bullets from there. He arrived at the site of Trump's rally at 3 pm, which was exactly 3 hours in advance of Trump rally's scheduled timing. He then moved around the whole site, examining it carefully, and then decided to shoot at Trump from a building that was located to the left of his stage (left to the spectator looking at the stage). This building had no floors above the ground floor. It was roughly 140 meters away from the stage. Upon climbing the rooftop, Crooks had the privilege of having a crystal clear view of Trump's exact location. He then put his rifle at an unrecognizable place near the building and went away from there for some time. 

He returned back around 5 pm and got himself inside through the security checkpoint (a matter of investigation as to how he was able to get into that place through the security point). Around 5:35 Trump arrived at the site along with his motorcade. This guy, Crooks, then starts walking in a rather creepy manner, near the building which he had chosen for shooting. In some video clips captured by the people present at that time, he is clearly seen standing, as well as wandering around that place at around 5:40 pm. Some of those even inform the Security Service agents there. These agents identify him as a suspicious person, present at Trump's rally. Following this he suddenly disappears away! After a few minutes, he is seen on the rooftop of that building, left of Trump's stage, which he had chosen for firing his bullets. He is seen lying there down on the roof on his stomach, slowly crawling ahead. Now he has the rifle in his both hands and that could be seen by the spectators below on the ground. One of them starts shouting, "He has a gun, he has a gun...!!" 

It's already 6:05 pm. Trump decides to come up on the stage. As he comes up, he gets heavily cheered by the crowd over there.

It's 6:10 pm. The Secret Service agent near that building becomes aware of a likely security threat on the rooftop of that building which the people present to its right, were pointing towards. He decides to go on the rooftop. He climbs up the same stairs through which Crooks might have climbed to arrive at the roof. 

It's 6:11 pm. The Secret Service agent watches a man, positioned on the rooftop, ready to shoot through a rifle with a binocular'. Crooks comes to know immediately about the presence of someone right behind him. He turns and points the rifle toward the agent, peeping at him from the ladder, just a few yards away. On the spot, he warns the agent to remain away by pointing the rifle at him. The agent gets scared and tries to move away suddenly. In that scuffle, he falls from the ladder, down to the ground below and gets injured. Meanwhile, Crooks now knows that he needs to hurry up before that person behind him informs others and they try to surround him or shoot at him. He fires his first shot. At that instant, Trump is talking about the illegal immigrants that have managed to enter the southern borders of the country. He is explaining how grave this crisis is. The first shot is traveling with tremendous speed towards his head. His head is positioned such that this bullet from Crooks, enters him through his right ear and penetrates his skull from there. It's a 100% perfect shot with the potential to kill Donald J Trump, the 45th President of the United States, on the spot. Nothing can save Trump now from dying there itself, except some miracle. It's game over for him. This country is about to be deprived of a great leader by the Republicans. A successful assassination of yet another American President is about to happen. Trump is going to join the types of John F Kennedy, and Abraham Lincoln, as those Presidents who were assassinated. The whole world is going to be shocked today. 

But no, God Almighty has other plans. Trump turns his head towards the left at the very last moment as the bullet arrives very close to his head. Because of this movement, the bullet fails to enter his skull, but instead, it ruptures his right ear, and travels through it on the other side, i.e. behind him. Trump immediately comes to know that something is wrong as he hears a whizzing sound near his right ear. He brings his right hand to his right ear and then in front of his eyes. He sees blood. As soon as that happens, he ducks down, trying to go below the small podium of the stage. As he does that another bullet travels towards him but misses him by say a foot. Then the 3rd bullet is fired, but again this one too misses to hit him. Meanwhile, as soon as the first shot is fired, the cracking sound of a gunshot, familiar to security people, is heard by the SS agents near the stage. They watch Trump trying to kneel down below the podium. Immediately they can fathom that the situation is very dangerous and 5 of them create a human shield around Trump, in order to save his life from the bullets. The shots are fired by Crooks in two groups. The first group had 3 shots, fired rather slowly, with a space of about 3 seconds between them. The second group which has 5 shots, is a rapid-fire round. There is hardly a space of half a second between each of those 5 shots. They are very haphazard, abrupt, and much less perfect as they travel far away from the target (Trump). One of them is way off the target. It travels to the left of Trump and kills a fire officer Corey Comperatore, as discussed above. He tries to save his wife and daughter, which he does manage to, quite successfully but in that process of covering himself up, a bullet goes into his brain. What a sacrifice for the sake of the family!! Two other bullets managed to injure two other spectators present behind Trump's stage. 

During this time, a shot gets fired by a sniper located behind Trump, on the right side of the stage. It's a perfect shot that travels through the skull of Thomas Crooks and kills him instantaneously! A lot of blood pours out of his fractured head and leaves an 18 to 20-foot blood stain on that roof. 

With the death of the would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks, the threat on the life of former President Trump is now over. Yet everyone is still very scared, including the SS agents. These agents are seen fidgeting around Trump, trying their best to save his life. They escort him back to his car and then to a nearby hospital, where Trump is declared "out of danger". He then flies back to his home. 

This entire episode clearly suggests that there was indeed "a divine intervention" by God Almighty, from the heavens above us. It was a very lethal, dangerous attack yet Trump could walk out of it alive, sustaining only minor injuries!! This is because he turned his head towards the left at the very last moment!! Had he not turned it that way, the bullet from the rifle of the shooter would have pierced his head from that right ear. But because he turned his head towards the left, it could just pierce his right ear and then go through!! What a save!!!! It was indeed a huge Miracle!! Such things occur very rarely on this planet and this was one of them. There is no doubt about that. God Almighty wanted to save Donald J Trump from a very certain death on July 13th, 2024 and HE did save him!! It was indeed a Divine Intervention and nothing less. 

This is the interpretation of most people in the world, about this horrible incident. Of course the Republicans agree to it. However, the Democrats don't like it because it says God saved Trump. They term it as "a mere coincidence" that he turned his head left at the very last moment. According to them, it's similar to a person getting saved from a road accident by a truck coming behind you at full speed but unable to cause any harm to you because you changed the direction by the 10th of a second difference. That's not divine intervention. That's a coincidence! In short, the Dems just don't like the idea of God protecting their most bitter opponent. It's okay until the point the Dems have such an idea. But it's not okay when some of them openly say that Trump needed to die on that day. I saw a video clip on YouTube the other day wherein at least 4 to 5 Democratic party supporters in different US cities publicly said in front of the camera that it would have been better if Trump didn't escape death as he divides this country. What kind of mean, heinous psychology these people have, oh my God! Please clean up their dirty minds, dear Almighty God!!

This whole episode of attack on the life of Trump is highly questionable and very doubtful. I guess Biden and his supporters shouldn't be spared from investigation, in this case. So should the Secret Service agents and the entire Secret Service organization thereof, because this was indeed a massive security failure, which could have killed a dignity, as big as a former President of the United States, running for the Oval Office once again. As said above, the FBI is looking into the matter and has issued a statement saying it will submit the full investigation conclusion report in a few months. I don't think it will be out before the November Presidential elections. But if by chance it does, it will have a positive impact on the Trump campaign and a negative one on the Harris campaign. The FBI is a part of the corrupt deep administrative state, which actually supports the Democrats more than the Republicans. Hence it is more likely to act in a manner that favors Harris. In the report that comes out, they will likely try and show this once again as a "lone wolf attack" by a partially insane person, instead of revealing any plot to kill Trump, even if there was one. That is the most probable outcome of the FBI investigation, I guess. 

Meanwhile, Trump has declared to set up a "Commission on Presidential Assassination attempts" if he gets elected as President. This commission will investigate the assassinations and assassination attempts on all former Presidents including J.F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, himself, Ronald Reagan, etc., and try to find out the real people who wanted to kill these Presidents, by employing assassins as pawns.  

As I write this on August 21st, Kamala Harris has been officially nominated now as the Presidential candidate for the Democratic party for the November 2024 Presidential elections. She accepted the nomination in the Democratic National Convention (DNC) of her party in Chicago. She gave a very good speech after accepting her nomination, asking all party workers to come together and join hands in order to defeat the divisive and undemocratic forces within the country led by Donald J Trump. She said that in her agenda, "Decency, Equity and Inclusivity" were at the forefront and she would strive really hard for the democratic values of this great country. Her speech was overwhelmingly received by the huge number of Democratic party members and workers present over there so much so that the clapping continued for nearly 2 and a half minutes after her speech was over!!

Other prominent leaders who gave speeches at the DNC include Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Bill Clinton, President Biden, and the Vice Presidential nominee of the Democratic Party, Tim Walz. Among all these, the speech given by Michelle Obama received the maximum ovation as she lambasted Trump in every way possible.
